Meet Darlene Tully

Mental Health Therapist, Art Therapist, Artist

I have been working in the mental health field as a therapist for over 28 years.  My specialization has been in supporting children and youth, though I enjoy working with people of all ages.  I offer individual counselling and art therapy.  Sessions are available in-person or virtually (telephone or video). If you wish to meet in person, you can choose in-office or in nature.

An artist and a nature enthusiast, I find creative and nature-based endeavours to be grounding and healing.  My approach includes a down-to-earth, genuine way of being, offering respect and inviting curiosity, compassion, self-reflection, and creativity.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (#20066), a Certified Canadian Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (#2132), and a Registered Art Therapist with the British Columbia Art Therapy Association (#312) and the Canadian Art Therapy Association (#365-R-23).

Being Human

Life is full of joys and despair.  One can learn to live fully in the present moment, with compassion for self and other.

Power is located in balancing the difficult things while holding on to the light within.

Resources

When life's stressors become heavy, it's important to know that we are not alone.  Each of us has resources within and around us.

Family and friends, the healing and grounding power of nature, creativity, and endeavors that tap into the mind, body, and spirit are essential to wellness.

Nurturing Resilience

As living beings we access what we need to survive, to heal, and to thrive.

Regardless of early experiences and life circumstances, every human has a core that strives toward that sense of aliveness and connection.

Wellness through Connection

As humans, you and I are social beings.

We develop and grow, face challenges, and learn in relationship.  Connection with self and others, and reflecting on experience supports wholeness and wellness.

Authenticity

Awareness of our thoughts, feelings, behaviours and values supports choice-making.  Daily practice of mindfulness nurtures that spark of  life!

Coping & Groundedness

Connection with our creativity and with nature builds our healthy sense of self and can support helpful coping, wellness, and equanimity.
